An open letter to Friends of Sabotage Reviews

Dear Friends of Sabotage Reviews,

Since I took over from Claire last summer, it’s been a whirlwind of new opportunities and harsh learning curves. The Saboteur Awards taught me an awful lot about – well, lots of things! Arts Council England applications, swanky venues, trophy design, and so much more…

Outside of the Saboteur Awards though, there is a lot of day-to-day running that requires attention from one editor or another, and I think we can all agree that the editors do a stand-up job in keeping the site heavy with well-written pieces (and we have the amazing reviewers themselves to thank for that).

However, my reason for writing this open letter is actually to turn attention on – and give thanks to – the wonderful people who keep Sabotage Reviews financially afloat throughout the year. Regrettably, during last year’s handover the mailing list for the Friends’ Scheme slipped through the cracks somewhere, which is why any direct contact has been quiet from me to you. I’m in the process of using good old PayPal to look for the kind folks who have donated monies in the last twenty-four months, so that I might get an official mailing list together – and so that I can finally get the benefits flowing back out to those who donate to us.

In the meantime, I’d like to give this note of personal thanks to everyone who helps us to go on existing. It genuinely overwhelms me to see the support that’s given to Sabotage, and the Friends’ Scheme is no exception to that, so thank you, over and over, for such generosity and kindness. Once the mailing list is up and running, I can promise our friends more regular updates from me, and I’ll also be looking to update the official list of benefits that come in exchange for your donations as well.

Have a lovely day, week, month and keep in touch with us!

Charley x
