Sabotage Reviews is delighted to announce a new partnership with Fly on the Wall Press, to launch…

In Conversation with Small Press Publishers

A personal series of UK small press publisher interviews curated by Charley Barnes, Managing Director of Sabotage Reviews and Isabelle Kenyon, Managing Director of Fly on the Wall Press, to help you find the right independent publisher for your manuscript.
Book coming April 2021.
Information for UK Small Press Publishers:

Would you like to be interviewed?

In order to apply you must define your Press in the following ways:

  • Under ten employees
  • Based in the UK currently
  • The Press is expected to continue publishing books for at least the next three years
  • You publish fiction, poetry, novellas, short stories or hybrid works in book form

In order to be considered, please complete the following google form. This consists of a series of standard questions and contact details for prospective writers (a free listing), and the opportunity to upgrade your interview by answering further questions and choosing a featured publication from your catalogue, for a colour feature (£25). The form will open on Monday 10th of August and close on Monday 9th of November.

The form can now be accessed here.

We will try and include all publishers who submit a listing, however we may have to be selective depending on interest! We will also be publicising the book and our chosen publishers widely across our collaborative social media channels.

We hope this interview series will become the syllabus for many University Creative Writing course reading lists, as well as being an excellent introduction to the ethos and personality of each UK small press publisher.

About Sabotage Reviews

Sabotage Reviews was founded in 2010 by Claire Trévien to provide dynamic commentary and reviews of small-scale and ephemeral literature that might not otherwise receive such critical and public attention. The focus is on independent, small-budget literature; poetry pamphlets, short stories and live performance (particularly open mic events and spoken word shows).

Sabotage is representative of the hugely diverse amount of work actually being made and written in the ‘literary ecology’. We stand for inclusiveness and commitment to new voices in literature.

‘In poetry, if the stale old hierarchies – page v stage, artist v critic, establishment v avant-garde – are crumbling, it’s because of the work encouraged by Sabotage.’ — Susannah Herbert, director of the Forward Prizes and National Poetry Day.
